PM Forum Update - Summer 2010

Mobile and print-friendly version

Professional Marketing Forum

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the latest issue of Update, a free regular round up of news, events and initiatives from the PM Forum.

We're really excited here at HQ about this year's conference - only six weeks to go now! It's always such a good day to catch up with old friends and to make new ones, especially members who come to London from the rest of the UK and overseas.

And congratulations goes to Sarah Rowley, of Keoghs in Bolton UK, who won an iPad in the competition in our recent conference emarketing campaign. We worked closely with Resource , using their pURL technology, to produce something a little more creative than the usual emails and, from feedback we've received, it seems to have gone down well.

With best wishes,

Are marketers adding value in the current climate?

Never before has the future of marketing and business development professionals been so uncertain. Chief executive Hamish Munro, who has a background in marketing in our sector, says "I am aware of how difficult and challenging it is for the voice of marketing to be heard above the clamour for redundancies, reduced budgets and outsourcing. The very value of marketing professionals and budgets is in doubt. I have never seen so many fellow marketers working with such daily levels of stress, depression and exhaustion. I am intending to use the results of the below survey to promote best practice and enhanced roles for marketing people to the Managing Partners' Forum and its constituency which I now belong to".

"I need your help - by filling in this survey – to get some genuine discussion and views so we can lobby management on the true value of marketing people. We cannot – I cannot – let this stand unchallenged. I would be delighted to hear your views. Please complete the survey by 13 August 2010."

PM Forum Annual Conference 2010

Bring an internal client and make big savings
Aware that one of the key challenges that marketers currently face is assisting fee earners to gain the right attitude and confidence to win work, this conference should help youout. The keynotes, overviews and panel session are designed to be as relevant to client handlers as to marketers.

So here's an additional hook for marketers: sign up one of your fee earners when you are booking and you'll get a 25% discount ... and it gets better ... with two fee earners, it's 50%; three 75%; and with four or more, your place is entirely free. The only snag is that all
of you must book at the same time to take advantage of these great deals.
