Dear Colleague,
Pitches - an occupational hazard
In an ideal world, new work would be dependent on the quality of relationships; in reality pitches are an occupational hazard of winning most new business.
Some firms give full responsibility to the marketing team for supporting the pitch process; others form dedicated pitch teams or use experts for 'must-win' pitches.
Irrespective of the route, any marketing team should be able to make a difference - but only if deployed early enough in the process. Being asked at tea time by a partner to help craft a document that is due the following morning is a recipe for stress, late nights and frustration. It also leads to a poor win record.
Our speaker, Linda Stevens of PricewaterhouseCoopers has developed an in-house reputation as someone to be consulted when a pitch is likely. Linda has gained the partners' attention and is authorised to intervene.
She will share some tips with PM Forum members eager to build their own internal reputation, and what she found works in the pitch process.
We do hope you can join us!
