Hi there,The IAB has been busy working throughout the summer, whilst many of those around us seemed to be sunning themselves on some distant beach! Jealous, us?!
We've unveiled a number of new initiatives over the last few weeks. The most notable of these is the IAB's Talent Taskforce which is designed to bridge the gap between higher education and the online industry. We feel this is a hugely important step so keep checking the IAB website for updates.
We've also produced some advice for brands looking to get the best out of Twitter. Following the government's unveiling of its first Twitter strategy document, we felt that brands could do with some slightly more pithy guidelines. Click here to read them.
The IAB has also been busy preparing for our annual Engage conference taking place on 11th November. We're currently enlisting some of the best speakers in the industry to ensure that this year's Engage is even better than previous years. To keep up to date with all the latest developments why not follow us at our dedicated Engage Twitter feed.
Happy reading
Guy Phillipson, Chief Executive, IAB UK

The marketing team is cracking on with the demographic series, and recently saw the release of a book dedicated to 'digital women' sponsored by Nielsen Online. In the next few weeks we'll be celebrating 'men online' with a dedicated book, proudly sponsored by ESPN, and a launch event scheduled for 24th September. We'll also be completing a practical guide on the whys, wherefores and whens (!) of online behavioural advertising, in association with Audience Science and our expert OBA council. Ten things you have to know about mobile applications right now!

Mobile applications are high on every digital marketer's agenda at the moment. But what exactly are they for and how can you get the most out of them? IAB Mobile Forum a huge success
The IAB Mobile Forum sponsored by AdMob, Orange, comScore and GSMA was a huge success with a raft of advertisers attending to hear presentation covering a range of topics from how to build a mobile strategy, to display advertising and search.
IAB mobile and online research project kicks off
We've just kicked off our next mobile research project which will investigate how mobile and the fixed internet can be used together by advertisers and will look at how consumers use the two. We've finalized our methodology and are now looking for advertisers to take part in the research. Any advertiser that takes part will get a detailed insight into using the fixed and mobile internet together and receive a free campaign as a result. If you're interested get in touch with jon@iabuk.net. | |
