Click-thru

14 May 2009

Over the last few weeks we've learned how fast a YouTube video can spread around the world, highlighting something unexpectedly brilliant (Susan Boyle) and something fairly predictably terrible (Gordon Brown). We also witnessed Ashton Kutcher beating CNN in the race to be the first tweeter to gain one million followers. It's odd to think that this happened less than four weeks ago – a long time in the world of digital. Talking of Twitter, we've just passed the 1,700 followers mark. If you want to keep up with us on a variety of social media properties just click on any of the icons to the right.

We've been busy as ever over the last month. Most notably we unveiled our first ever mobile ad spend figures which showed that the mobile ad market was worth £28.6 million in 2008. This news coincided with the launch of the new Mobile Advertising section of our website. Elsewhere, we also recently released our video advertising guidelines and published a white paper on lead generation
.

If you were up early on Sunday you may have heard our very own Kieron Matthews on Gabby Logan's Radio 5 show. Kieron was introduced as 'the man who knows more about making money online than Rupert Murdoch' – you can listen here (the conversation starts 20 minutes in).

For more info on getting involved with our work, email us at info@iabuk.net. I'm sure you'll agree that now is the best time to get the most out of your membership bucks, so do drop us a line. Furthermore if you have any associates who are not members of the IAB, feel free to pass this newsletter on, so we can continue to grow the IAB membership community.
