12th August 2009

Hi there
,

So we're now well into silly season. Traditionally this is a time when editors struggle to find enough news to sell newspapers. Which makes this a strange time for Rupert Murdoch to announce that he's going to introduce a payment structure for News International's online titles. If nothing else, he's created a story that's going to run and run.

In the last few weeks we've seen the news of Microsoft and Yahoo!'s tie-up, Twitter and Facebook surviving a major DDoS attack and Stephen Timms' appointment as the man to take forward Digital Britain.

For our part at the IAB we've been busy as usual. We've re-designed our homepage, put together Twitter guidelines for brands and announced the date and theme for this year's Engage conference.

And finally, we're raising money for Care International by taking part in a hiking, biking andcanoeing challenge. Get involved.

Happy reading,

Web Team
