ICE Newsflash: High Speed 2 – ICE response to DfT

ICE's response to the Department for Transport consultation on HS2 is being submitted today (22 July) and a press release has been issued. This newsflash is to let you, our members, know in advance about this response. You may also hear about it in today's media.

Where we stand on HS2
Our response sets out some key issues that need to be addressed with the HS2 proposals, but is broadly supportive of the plans. Alternatives to the new network were carefully considered throughout the consultation process, but the panel concluded that HS2 is more visionary, bringing about the required step change in rail capacity and encouraging long-term economic growth for the UK.

Your expertise
We thank all ICE members who put forward a wide range of views and expertise on the topic over the consultation period, helping to form ICE's response.
