Information meeting in London on the CESR consultation  on risk measurement and the calculation of global exposure and counterparty risk for UCITS

 

As detailed in April in the Front Page, CESR have issued their Consultation Paper on Risk Measurement and the calculation of Global Exposure and Counterparty Risk for UCITS. As the focus of the consultation is directed at those who carry out risk measurement and risk management, the Irish Funds Industry Association ( IFIA) propose to schedule an information meeting in London on Monday 24th May and have confirmed that Grellan O'Kelly from the Financial Regulator, who sits on the CESR working group which prepared the paper, will participate and give a presentation on the Consultation Paper and the work of CESR generally, with the presentation being followed by a Q & A. The meeting will commence at 12.45 and should be finished by 2.00pm. The consultation will close on 31 May 2010. The revised UCITS Directive must be implemented by Member States by 1 July 2011. CESR has emphasised that it believes that the Level 2 measures and the Level 3 guidelines on this area should be adopted as a single package by    1 July 2010.
